Barry W. Norfleet, Esq.
Senior Vice President, Senior Trust Officer, & Legal Counsel
Barry recently joined Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co. to lead the Trust Department and serve as Senior Vice-President, Senior Trust Officer and Legal Counsel. While working principally from Louisville and Lexington, Barry has 19 years of proactive client experience throughout Kentucky. He served as an Attorney and Tax Manager Consultant for Arthur Andersen, LLP; as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for Spectrum Financial Alliance, Ltd., LLC; as a solo practitioner estate planning attorney; as a Partner, Director and General Counsel for a number of start-up healthcare and real estate ventures concentrated in Eastern Kentucky; and most recently as a Principal Trust Administrative Attorney with The Glenview Trust Company. Barry earned his B.B.A., M.B.A., and Juris Doctorate (law) degrees from the University of Kentucky. Currently, Barry serves on the Board of Trustees of Christian Care Communities, which is Kentucky’s largest faith based, non-profit organization providing nursing home and adult day care services for moderate income clients. He also serves as a Director and legal advisor for mPower Foundation, Inc., a ministry providing tools and training for sustainable global transformation in underdeveloped nations. Barry has served as an advisor and member of several other boards and committees, and chaired several, including through his affiliation with the American, Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations. Barry is a member of the Bluegrass Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning Council of Louisville. He is a member of Farmers Bank’s Trust Committee, Investment Committee, Asset Liability Committee, and will serve on the FCBC Retirement Committee. Barry, his wife, Tracy, and their sons, Parker and Chandler, live in Louisville. They are members of Southeast Christian Church, where Barry also serves as a Deacon overseer of the Financial Care and Benevolence Ministry.

Michael Burns
CTFA Vice President & Trust Officer
Michael has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co.’s Trust Department for 7 years. He has 12 years of trust banking experience, having commenced his career with the Trust Department of Fifth Third Bank in Lexington, Kentucky. Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kentucky in 1998, and he is also a graduate of the Cannon Trust School in Atlanta, Georgia, and the National Graduate Trust School in Chicago, Illinois. Michael serves as a personal trust account administrator, handling many accounts with real estate, the settlement of estates, and oversees the preparation of all of the fiduciary income tax returns for the department. Michael is a member of Farmers Bank’s Trust Committee and Farmers Bank Investment Committee. He also served as the President of the Bluegrass Estate Planning Council in 2008-2009. Michael, his wife, Sharyl, and their three children live in Lexington where they are active members of their church and community.

Keith Ballard
AFIM Vice President & Trust Officer
Keith has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co.’s Trust Department since December 2004. While serving in various positions, he has over 13 years of experience which includes 11 years at FCBC. Keith earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Western Kentucky University in 1996, and he earned his M.B.A. in Finance, Real Estate, and Banking from the University of Kentucky in 1998. Keith is a 2007 graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute Investment Management School and earned his certification as an Accredited Fiduciary Investment Manager in 2008. Keith currently serves as the investment manager of the Trust Department where he performs trades for accounts and conducts investment analysis using Bloomberg and Morningstar. Keith utilizes research from the Northern Trust Company for establishing asset allocation and diversification strategies as well as stock recommendations. His additional responsibilities include personal trust account administration and quarterly investment reporting for employee benefit plan accounts. Keith is a member of Farmers Bank’s Trust Committee, Farmers Bank Investment Committee, and the FCBC retirement committee. Keith resides in Lawrenceburg with wife, Holly, and daughter, Lauren; and he enjoys music, sports, pets, games, spending time with family, and the great outdoors.

Leigh Ann Young
Vice President & Trust Officer
Leigh Ann Young has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co.’s Trust Department for 13 years. Leigh Ann received her Associates Degree in Business from Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky. Leigh Ann serves as the head of our trust operations area where she manages all of our trust operations functions, including the daily functions with the Bank of New York, the maintenance of securities and accounts on the system, preparing/reviewing daily transactions, balancing mutual funds, processing fees, making disbursements, keeping software systems updated with periodic installations, and implementing system changes in an effort to enhance trust operations. Leigh Ann, her husband, Eric, and their two children live in Lawrenceburg.

Karen DiRaimo
Assistant Vice President & Trust Officer
Karen has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co. for 22 years. She left Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co. in September of 1992, having worked her last 6 years in the Trust Department. After working for 4 years at Bank One (currently Chase) and another 2 years at a Lexington CPA firm, she stayed home with her son for 18 months before returning to the Trust Department in September of 2000. Karen serves as one of two Employee Benefit Specialists with the department who manage retirement plans for companies and Trustees for Individual Retirement Accounts. Her responsibilities include assisting the client in designing the plan, as well as overseeing day-to-day operations such as processing contributions and distributions; maintaining participant records; monitoring compliance; communicating plan features to participants; and preparing all required federal filings. Karen has a finance degree from Murray State University and continues her education annually through industry seminars and conferences. Karen is a member of the FCBC Retirement Committee, the Beyond Service Committee, and a Board member of the Frankfort YMCA. She and her husband, Jodi, live in Lexington with their son Bobby. Karen and Jodi enjoy playing golf, cooking, and traveling.

Kay Henninger
CRSP Assistant Vice President & Trust Officer
Kay has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co.’s Trust Department for 10 years. Kay earned her Associate of Arts Degree from Lindsey Wilson College in 1975 and also attended Western Kentucky University for two years. Kay has over 25 years of combined trust and banking experience. She is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Institute for Employee Benefits receiving her CRSP in 1997. She maintains CRSP certification by attending seminars and conferences. Kay serves as an employee benefits account administrator and performs all aspects of plan administration, including record keeping, compliance, distribution calculations, 1099R reporting, and organizing 5500 reports for 401(k) plans, nonqualified plans and Individual Retirement Accounts. Kay is also a member of the FCBC Retirement Committee. Currently, she is cross training in personal trust accounts. Kay and her husband, William, have two sons and two grandchildren.
Sally Bell

Sally Bell has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co.’s Trust Department for 26 years. Sally has participated in enormous changes to our department, from its early days of ledger cards and CD only investments, to the modern Sungard trust accounting system with its on-line access to modern trust portfolios. Sally also performs trust operations functions including the daily functions with the Bank of New York, the maintenance of securities and accounts on the system, preparing/reviewing daily transactions, balancing mutual funds, processing fees, making disbursements, and maintains the bond program. She has in-depth personal knowledge of our clients; their personal family histories and evolution to what are now our current-day account relationships. Sally’s “Frankfort” knowledge is very helpful in the administration of our local trust and estate accounts. Sally’s husband is William Bell, who has worked in the Farmers Bank family for 50 years; and she has three children and one granddaughter.

Jill Van Hook
Assistant Trust Officer
Jill has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co.’s Trust Department for 7 years and has been with Farmers Bank for over 11 years. As an Assistant Trust Officer, Jill performs daily posting and transmission duties for the Sungard trust accounting system, affirms purchases and sales of securities, and enters trades and downloads confirmations for the investment officers. She reconciles the department’s sweep accounts and updates the sweep rates. Jill, her husband, Jeff, and their two children live in Lawrenceburg where they are active members of Fox Creek Christian Church.

Kathy Lewis
Administrative Assistant
Kathy, our newest addition, joined the Trust Department in January 2011. Kathy has been a member of Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co. for over 3 years. Prior to working in the Trust Department, Kathy worked as a teller, teller trainer, and certified as a customer service representative. Kathy is involved in many special projects and assists in the business development process for the Trust Department. Kathy also has responsibility of preparing information for the monthly Trust Committee and monthly Trust Investment Committee meetings. In addition to her daily responsibilities, Kathy also assists each of the Trust Officers as needed. Kathy, her husband, Mike, and their two daughters live in Frankfort, and are active members of Clays Mill Road Baptist Church in Lexington.
